These two peanuts are visiting us in Madison this weekend. They came down to walk with us for #walk4nf I've been friends with their mom since we were in 7th grade. So *does the math*, 28 years ago. We've been through a lot together, even though we now live hours apart. Health scares, infertility, miscarriages, high school science class, college, graduate school, boyfriends, significant others, and now kids. She lets me take pictures of her and her family. I've been grateful for her friendship and her support
Oh dear Mother Nature, are the warmer days of Spring finally upon us?
Mother's Day is coming on May 8th! In our community, Mother's Day weekend is always the same weekend as Wisconsin fishing opener. It's also the weekend for our community's city wide garage sales. What will I do for Mother's Day? Probably enjoy some quiet time with my family. I'll hope for nice weather so we can go play outside.
FINALLY! We had a warmer day here! We spent most of the day outside with the kids. We started the morning with breakfast at Panera and then to pick up a motorcycle from the Winter storage. We did some yard work and power washed the deck for the season. Lunch at a park with some playground time. Then home to start building our raised garden on our empty lot. It has full day direct sunlight, so much better suited for a vegetable garden than our current yard. After a tiny bit of time spent resting, we were back outside playing in the yard, setting up the "tree house" (which is really just our play structure). Of course, we ended the day on our bikes doing loops around our neighbor's driveway.

My parents have been visiting from Minnesota the last 4 days so they left early this morning to beat the traffic that is sure to be on the interstate this afternoon. Tears are usually shed by my kiddos after they leave. There are multiple downsides to living so far away from them. But it makes the reunions that much more sweet. Happy Easter everyone!
If you didn't know, crochet is one of my favorite hobbies! I can finally post this photo here now that this blanket has been delivered to it's new owner. I made this as a surprise for a friend who I have actually never met in person. But I was so stinking proud of them when they proclaimed to the world who they were as a human being, true to themselves. I only wish the rest of us were able to be that brave and strong.
I know it doesn't feel like Spring. We've had all this late snow in southern Wisconsin. Slowly catching us up on the drought, but still, it's stifling Spring planning. Yard cleanup, garden prep and planting. Its just being pushed back.
