Although it is super pretty outside my house tonight with the heavy snowfall, I'm missing the warm hazy late afternoon Fall days.
2023 Self Portrait: Week 3. This Winter has been....lacking, to say the least, in the snow department. We got a bunch of snow in the weeks around Thanksgiving but it had all melted and it's been brown, so brown. So when I heard that we were getting snow this week, I wanted to take advantage of it. Red dress, white snow. Such a stark color difference.
This is week 2 of my 2023 Self Portrait project. The prompt was "Rule of Thirds". I'm still on the tail end of the bug I had over Christmas so the energy reserves were loooowwww. I popped the camera onto the tripot, moved some dirty dishes out of the way and took exactly 30 photos before I gave up.

My newborn sessions are relaxed, laid back and cozy. I like to make sure I photograph moments of your family interacting with one another, but also smaller moments like feeding baby and cuddling with older siblings. Self Portraits 2023, here we go with Week 1. I added in a little motivation for myself when the creativity ends up in a slump. I joined the #52Clicks class through Hello Storyteller. I'm excited to have a weekly prompt to focus my attention. This week is "center composition". I really struggled with this, truthfully. One would think it was a broad topic, which it is, but my original vision didnt really work so I had to play around with it. I came up with this plant in front of my face.
Here is my 2022 in review! Thank you to all my wonderful clients for booking with me this year! I am incredibly grateful for being able to spend time with you and your families this year. I'm looking forward to big things in 2023.
I'm so excited that I get to finally share these photos. I was waiting for this little girl's adoption to be finalized and that happened right before Christmas. Mom and Dad wanted me to come photograph their family in their home at night. Though I was a little nervous, as I often utilize natural light with my sessions, I pulled out the flash and modifiers and got to work. I love the coziness of this session. Thank you for including me in this amazing occasion!
Last self portrait of the year. Positive tests finally caught us. The three of us are hunkered down at my parents, who also have similar test results. This wasn’t how we were planning on spending the holidays but now we can check the big three off our list since the beginning of October.
