This was one of the best experiences of my life. If you get the chance to go on a retreat, do it. April 22, 2023. Motherhood is such a precious journey! But it's usually Mom who is the one behind the camera capturing that journey on her camera. I had submitted this self portrait to an anonymous creative challenge so I wasn't able to post it on time. My two rules were 1. I had to use a flash and 2. It had to be backlit. I wanted to play around with my flashes, putting different colored gels on them. I’m learning so much from this project. Week 9: Directional Light The first set of kid's personality portraits were done this morning. Thanks guys for coming over. We had a blast. Short and quick. I have three more this afternoon. I was feeling a little worried toward the middle of the week when all we had was clouds, clouds and more clouds. It was feeling like little to no hope for sunlight until Friday.
